Programs
Our progressive youth curriculum teaches age-appropriate Karate, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills, helping students build confidence, focus, discipline, and coordination through structured, age-based training levels that support their physical, mental, and social development.
Little Gorillas
(ages 5 – 6)
Our Little Gorillas program serves as an introduction to the world of martial arts. Through Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, students learn crucial skills that can help them on and off the mat. Check out the Little Gorillas program page for more information.
Junior Silverbacks
(ages 7 – 9)
This is a step up from our Little Gorillas program. In Junior Silverbacks, students build discipline, learn structure, and gain other skills through Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training. The class is fun and informative. Take a look at the program page for more information.
Senior Silverbacks
(ages 10 – 12)
Our martial arts training expands in our Senior Silverbacks program. We add Muay Thai training to Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as students begin to face more challenges. We make sure every day is a day to have fun and learn. Make sure to check out the program page for more information.
Teen Troop
(ages 13 – 17)
This is the oldest age group at Silverback Kids Martial Arts. We kick up the skill refinement in Muay Thai, karate, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as they learn more about becoming strong people off the mat. For more information, check out the program page.
Junior Leadership Program
The Junior Leadership program is a great way for your children to gain crucial life skills. We help students learn how to handle themselves in different situations and interact with others. The skills they learn will translate in all areas of life and help them lead in the future.

Merit Badge Program
Children often find it difficult to understand the long-term benefits of martial arts training and may lose interest after a few years. Because advancement through higher belt ranks takes time—and promotion slows as students progress—motivation can sometimes decrease.
The Merit Badge Program was created to support students by offering short-term, attainable goals outside of belt promotion. These badges recognize effort, personal growth, and achievement, helping students stay motivated and engaged throughout their training.
Merit badges fall into two categories:
- Physical badges, which develop strength, speed, flexibility, and coordination
- Non-physical badges, which build confidence, perseverance, empathy, leadership, and responsibility
Together, these badges encourage students to become positive role models both inside and outside the dojo, while also fostering a strong commitment to community involvement.
